The next time we went to the pool was at the hotel in Sanibel Island. At first, she clung to me. But after awhile, she relaxed, and she got to "swim" a little.
Then we went to the big pool for her birthday and she had fun on the slide.

The very next week, we went back. This time, she was having more fun in the water. She liked it when I sat her on the edge of the pool and she "jumped" in and I caught her.
She also loved it when we pulled her around in the water and she kicked her feet as she "swam." And, of course, she went down the slide a few more times.
The weekend after that, Ivan and Tere were gone, so there was no big pool for us. Instead, we went to the beach.
Lily dipped her little toes in the Gulf of Mexico once when she was 8 weeks old, but this was the first time she got to go swimming in it.
The waves rolling on the shore made her nervous, but she was happy out in the water.
Finally, our little fish put her feet on land again and we played in the sand for awhile.
Poor Lily. All the other kids get real beach toys. Mama couldn't find the little pink shovel and brought a kitchen ladle instead.
