Zoe Lily takes a nap, Everett outgrows his swing, and Khan buys barettes

And that pretty much sums up our visit to Brandy's house. Delayed a day by the traditional Christmas sickness, we finally got to Brandy's on Monday afternoon. I can't believe I haven't been there in over a year, and so much has changed since then. Ayden is a such a little man; he's seven now. And Miinan is so beautiful; she'll be five in a month. And then there's "little" Everett, Brandy's new baby. He's about 6 months old and such a little chunkers. He has the biggest, most pinch-worthy cheeks I've ever seen in my life. They're awesome. 

So we were having a nice visit. Catching up, reminiscing, and gossiping about people we knew from high school. It was almost time to go, and Lily started to fuss. So the plan was for Khan to run to the store to save time while I fed Lily (again). I tried to feed her and she was not having it. Tried to calm her down by bouncing her on the shoulder. A little bit better. So I tried to rock her. Nope -- melted down again. Brandy wanted to try. Nope, just more crying. Miinan kept trying to help, too. She thought maybe Zoe was tired. "Lily," we corrected her. "Maybe Zoe Lily is tired," she said. (Zoe is another baby that Miinan met a couple of weeks ago.) Everett was watching the whole scene from his throne, the swing that can barely hold him now. 

Brandy had the trick that worked. She ran the vacuum to calm Lily enough for her to eat. It worked, and she was out after that. Teamwork, baby. 

After a short nap, Khan returned with all the items from the list. Including some barrettes for Lily's hair. Hmm...they were a touch big, but he tried.
