Weekend photo assignment

Well, you know we like to use and abuse our camera. And we still have the Canon Powershot for use as a video camera. But now it will also play second chair to our new camera, a Nikon D60 digital SLR. It's nothing professional, but it's a pretty big step up from our Powershot. Assuming we had any idea how to use it.

So, we're trying to learn. We've decided that we're going to tackle a little at a time. We're starting with learning the various settings on the camera. Up first - the macro setting, used for close-ups of small objects. One problem with our new camera versus the Powershot with this setting is we don't have much zoom anymore. We could get a lot more zoom with this one eventually, but that'll require a new fancy lens. One thing at a time, right. So anyway, here's how we did using the macro setting.

We went to the Largo Botanical Gardens to play with our camera. And, how stereotypical can we be - I took photos of flowers and Khan took photos of reptiles.
